Manifesting Dreams into Reality

April 7, 2019

I wrote about my intent to open a community center to serve the immigrant community in my previous post. Since then, the state of Florida has approved the incorporation filing for Esperanza Community Center, Inc. A nonprofit organization whose sole purpose is to operate and serve the common good and general welfare of the community.

My heart is bursting with joy and excitement! So many people have come forth to help make my dream a reality. Not a day goes by that I don’t stop in awe at how my life changed when I took the first step toward manifesting my dreams into reality.

If You Can Dream It – You Can Manifest It

Esperanza Community Center is no longer a dream, it is going to happen! As I type this I have a huge smile and I am reminded of the saying “If you can dream it, you can do it!”  You can manifest your dreams into reality. Sounds like some new age thing, right? I used to think the same thing, but then decided to try it, I had nothing to lose.

Is there something that you have been thinking of doing, but fear is holding you back?  Maybe others have encouraged you, but you are afraid of failing? Or maybe no one knows, you have never shared your dream because you were afraid of being ridiculed. I am here to tell you, my friend, that if you allow others to dictate how you live, you will never know what you are truly capable of.

How to Get Started

Start by defining what you want. Dream big and don’t hold back! Write it all down in a notebook, allow all your thoughts to come, don’t worry if it doesn’t make sense, jot it all down.

Take a step back and identify exactly what you want to do.

Now share it with someone else. This was the scariest part for me, what if others thought I was crazy? But I found that once I said it out loud, I was able to do it again, and again, eventually I was able to share my plans with my boss, co-workers, and even the mayor of our city! Talk about losing the fear. You may want to start by sharing it with a close family member or friend, someone safe; then share it with someone else.

Next, I reached out to individuals I respect and asked for their help. I was afraid they were going to say no, but no one did. In fact, I was able to put together a wonderful committee of dedicated and strong individuals who are now working toward the same goal.  This part is critical and should not be rushed, when sharing your goal with others, be open and honest. Not everyone will be able to offer assistance, thank them and move on, don’t take it personal. This is part of the process, get used to others saying no, you will get a yes from someone who supports you 100%.

Don’t Be Discouraged

Expect obstacles, be patient and continue to stay positive. I have started listening to TED talks that keep me motivated, trust the process and know that this is part of your personal growth. Remember that you are a limitless being who is capable of manifesting dreams you decide to pursue. Find time to sit quietly and calm your mind, I have found that after I do this the ideas flow much more easily.

Remember that nothing, that no one can hold you back but you. You are capable of manifesting your dreams into reality. Our dreams are part of our identity, who we are, they help to guide us to our life purpose and destiny. Believe that you can do it and you will.
