I remember the first time I became aware of the importance of proper skincare. I must have been around 14 years old, but my mother took me with her to a friends house; where several women were being treated to a facial by a Mary Kay consultant. My obsession with skincare was born that day. I am grateful to have learned about proper skincare so many years ago. My mother taught me that the best results are achieved with patience and having a consistent routine.
From my experience, it is important to be aware of our skins needs. I don’t use the same products in the spring as in the winter. If my skin feels dehydrated or oily, I try to address these issues by adjusting my routine. Also, our skin can get into a rut after using the same skincare for a while and no longer see results, which can lead to a lackluster complexion lacking glow.
No matter what may be going on, a good facial is part of my long term commitment to skincare maintenance. The facial includes microdermabrasion. This treatment removes dead skin cells and infuses the complexion with hydrating ingredients for a plumper, more hydrated, glowing skin. The facial targets uneven pigmentation, breakouts, wrinkles, skin texture, congested skin, enlarged pores, and either oily or dry skin.
Having a trusted skin care professional to work with is essential. She will become familiar with your skin and will be able to make recommendations as needed. I have been working with Shiella, the most amazing skin care professional, for a little over a year.
Shiella is knowledgable and passionate about skincare, her priority is to help her clients look and feel their best. The last time I saw her, she did a Dermaradience Microdermabrasion Treatment. The facial took an hour and 15 minutes and afterwards my skin glowed. The treatment is non-invasive and there is no recovery time, I felt relaxed and rejuvenated. Following is a step by step description of the treatment, products used are from Eminence, an organic skincare line.
- Remove make-up and cleanse the skin depending on skin type; oily, dry, combination, while steaming the skin.
- Analyzed the skin. Checking if there are need to be addressed such as pimples, blackheads, whiteheads, wrinkles etc. and other skin concerns.
- Exfoliate or extraction if needed.
- Perform the DermaRadiance.
- Mask – collagen mask
- Massage – this is one of my favorite steps! So relaxing…
- Remove the mask and then tone the skin, apply serum, moisturizer, eye cream.
- Close the pores with the cold hammer device and high frequency for extracted pimples.
- Stretching of arms, legs and back.
- Take deep breaths, exhale with beautiful, healthier skin.
What is DemaRadience
DermaRadiance Pure Flower Peel utilizes all organic materials instead of Aluminum Oxide or Sodium Bicarbonate which are the most commonly used crystals in traditional microdermabrasion systems. The flower grains are less pliable than the sodium bicarbonate which dissolves when it touches the skin.
DermaRadiance respects the integrity of the skin and provides a simple approach to healthy, youthful-looking skin for men and women of all ages. The treatment has been developed with improved technology to exfoliate the skin while providing natural nutrients such as Satin Smooth’s botanicals and serums to revitalize the skin.
Additional Benefits: The Entire plant including root, stem, leaves, and flowers are used. The plant material is pulverized to create the grains. The skin receives all the benefits of the oils from the plants. The Flower Grains stimulate fibroblasts to increase the skins natural collagen production. Flower Grain Options: Lavender (good for dry/sensitive skin), Tea Tree (oily/acne prone), or Rose (for anti-aging).
