Skincare Serums

February 3, 2019

If you are not using serums as part of your skincare routine, then you may be missing out on powerful ingredients that can help transform your skin from dull to glowing.

I have been using serums for years. During this time, I have always looked for powerful ingredients that combat occasional acne, help minimize the look of pores, fine lines and wrinkles.

It’s easy to add one or several serums to your current skincare routine. Following is a brief description of the serums I use and highly recommend.

In the morning, after cleaning with the Tata Harper Nourishing Oil Cleanser, and using a toner, I apply the C E Ferulic serum to dry skin. I let the serum absorb and then apply sunscreen and moisturizer. It is non greasy and fragrance free. Can be used daily.

An amazingly gentle cleanser

The serum has 15% pure vitamin C, 0.5% férulic acid, and 1% vitamin E, which helps to firm skin, combats aging and protect it from daily environmental damage. Who doesn’t need that? Use it on face, neck and décolleté.

A few drops go along way

For the occasional pimple, I apply a tiny amount of the Blemish & Age Defense serum to the infected area. The healing starts immediately, helping to reduce inflammation and redness. I reapply as needed until the blemish is gone.

The solution has a combination of 2% dioic acid with alpha and beta hydroxy acids to prevent new blemishes. It will help to unclog pores and control oiliness. Use on face only and say good-by to breakouts!

A tiny amount will heal any blemish

The SkinCeuticals serums can be purchased from the Dermstore, an on-line beauty supply provider. They have natural beauty brands, as well as specialty brands for all your beauty needs.

Drunk Elephant T.L.C. Framboos Glycolic Night Serum

A clear, fragrance free gel, this is a “high tech AHA/BHA gel that resurfaces dull, congested skin by gently lifting away dead skin cells, dramatically improving the appearance of texture, uneven tone, fine lines, wrinkles and pores. It is formulated with glycolic, tartaric, lactic, citric and salicylic acids and blended with raspberry extract. Curbs excess oiliness as it reveals greater clarity and smoother, more radiant looking complexion.”

I use nightly, however, I would caution those that are first time users to use every other day, or even every two days to avoid irritation. After a few weeks of use, you can start to use it daily. You will notice that that your skin will retain more moisture, will look plumper, clearer and more radiant.

The Drunk Elehant products can be purchased at Sephora. Skinceuticals products can be purchased at the Dermstore.
